Capodanno non eccessivamente impegnativo anche per la NBA, che nella notte del primo giorno del 2015 aveva in programma solamente 2 gare. Tra le quattro squadre impegnate una sola si trova attualmente in zona playoff, Chicago, la quale inizia bene il nuovo anno vincendo coi Nuggets nella Windy City. Buona la prima annuale anche per i Kings, che liquidano i T’Wolves a domicilio nonostante un ottimo Andrew Wiggins (27 e 9 rimbalzi per il rookie da Kansas).
